Introduction

The Langtang trek is another pleasing trekking destination of Nepal in terms of religious prospective as well as the incredible serenity of surrounding make Langtang well-known trekking paradise. The Langtang valley is located only 19 miles north of Kathmandu, close to the border of Tibet. This is encircled by Langtang National park. Langtang trek towards the base of Langtang Himal, north of Kathmandu valley, offers the shortest approach to snowy mountains from Kathmandu. The Langtang trek starts from Syabru Besi after 9hrs drive from Kathmandu. Following a trail upstream Bhote Koshi river through ethnic Tamang and sherpa villages, lush green forests inhabitants of diverse flora and fauna such as Rhododendrons, pine, Red panda, Himalayan black bear, snow leopard, and numerous lake and glaciers including the very famous holy lake Gosaikunda also lies in this tiny boundary. The wide spread Kyanjin valley surrounded by snowy peaks from all four sides, takes you up to Kyanjin at 3800 meter, where you get an opportunity to ascend Kyanjin Ri [4350m.], from where the 360 degree mountain views are truly panoramic. After an ascent of Kyangjin RI, we retrace our route back down the valley to Syabru Besi and then drive back to Kathmandu.
