Description
Ghalegaun is the habitat of famous Ghales, Gurungs and legendary Gurkhas of western Nepal. It lies in the Lamjung district of Nepal and is incredibly popular for homestay trekking for trekkers. It is situated 205 km northwest of Kathmandu and 125 km northeast of Pokhara. The village gives a close up view of western Himalayas including Machhapuchhare, Annapurna, Lamjung Himal, Buddha Himal, Himchuli and other small peaks.
Ghalegaun tour is very popular for honey hunting activities. The traditional honey hunting can be observed during Ghalegaun tour. Especially, it is possible in late spring and autumn season.
Itinerary
Early breakfast and drive to Besishahar which takes about 5 hours approximately from Kathmandu. You will reach at the afternoon to have little rest then drive to Ghalegaun or you have choice to hike up to Ghalegaun. It takes 3-4 hours to reach Ghalegaun. Then in the evening time at community center where local committee will warmly welcome every visitor and showcase their cultural program. Overnight at Homestay.
Early morning breakfast, drive back to Besishahar observing natural scenic and local culture. Reach Besishahar in the afternoon and drive to Pokhara where you will reach after 3 hours almost. In the evening, stroll around lake sides and enjoy dinner at lake side. Overnight stay at hotel.
Early morning visit to Sarangkot for sunrise view and visit Davis fall and Gupteswor cave. Back to hotel and have breakfast and then drive for Kathmandu. Enjoy evening in Thamel.
Finally, you are transferred to airport for boarding before 2-3 hours before your flight. Note: For any other package you can combined tour with package.
