Description
Honey hunting is traditionally following one of the cultural traits of hilly regions of Nepal. Till date, honey hunting is following same tradition by indigenous group in Western Nepal- Lamjung. That’s why, it has been one of the major attractions for tourist to observe honey hunting. We offer honey hunting tour in Lamjung district annually. Every year locals risks their lives to extract honey from the steep hills just using a single rope. One of the major sources of income is honey hunting and it has created lives in the village lamjung. Many tourists are attracted from all over the world for seeing honey hunting. The hunting has been carried out in the steep hills of Ghanpokhara, Khudri, Tanghring, Bhujung, Dudhpokhari etc . This is indeed a teamwork where three persons works collectively to collect honey i.e. one on the top, one at the middle to extract honey and one at the bottom to collect.
Itinerary
One of our Office representative will receive you and assist you to transfer to hotel. In the evening, we will have welcome Dinner with Nepali cultural show.
Kathmandu valley is the capital city of Nepal and is the first touristic destination for any visitors. It offers the most famous touristic spots listed under the world heritage site such as Swoyambhunath, Pashupatinath, Bouddhanath, Kathmandu durbar square and many other temples that give an incredible experience. Kathmandu, the capital city stands at an elevation of 1400 meters and is considered to be the center of Nepal’s history, art and culture. Seven out of ten UNESCO world heritage site lies in the Kathmandu valley. The visitors not only explore the three towns in the valley i.e. Kathmandu, Patan and Bhaktapur but also visit other adjacent places in the city. Tour can be started with visiting UNESCO world heritage site to delightful adjacent towns. Sightseeing at Nagarkot, visiting temples such as Changunarayan, Budhanilkantha, Dakshinkali etc. can also be done during the half day of the tour. Among these locations, only three places can visit in a day, so we give choice to guest to select three of them.
Early breakfast and drive to Besishahar which takes about 5 hours from Kathmandu. In the afternoon drive to Ghalegaun after having little rest. This is the point where one can start trek for honey hunting site or can use off road jeep to reach Ghalegaun. One can trek for 4-5 hours for honey hunting and can also view natural scenes on the way. Overnight homestay in the village.
Early morning breakfast and stroll around Ghalegaun. Enjoy sunrise view from Mountain. Observe Manaslu and other peaks. After meal, we prepare stuffs to take to go for honey hunting with the villagers. Enjoy and observe Honey hunting activities and celebrate in the evening.
We enjoy strolling lake sides in Pokhara. We visit Fewa lake, Davis fall, Cave and many more in the street of lake sides.
Following the breakfast in the hotel, one can head to Pokhara via flight or take a long drive to reach Kathmandu. In the evening enjoy dinner in Thamel and shopping there.
You will be finally headed to the Kathmandu airport before the scheduled flight and the journey ends here.
