Jaysambhoo, Bholenath, Kailashpati, and Baba Pashupatinath are a few common names of lord Shiva.  People around the world who believe in Hinduism, place Nepal, a sacred land of ancient traditions and spiritual wonders for seeking divine blessings and eternal peace.  I am covering Shiva’s temple and its significance to worshiping lord shiva in the month of Shravan (July/August) according to the Lunar calendar in this blog article. The month of Shravan is dedicated to lord Shiva which brings a spiritual tour with the wide experience to realize divine energy and the blessing of a mighty deity.

Pashupatinath temple is a main attraction among pilgrims. Pashupatinath temple is located on the bank of the holy river Bagmati in the eastern outskirt of Kathmandu city.  The meaning of “Pashupatinath” has simply the other name of lord Shiva but if we deeply analyzed the term “Pashupatinath” it has deep significance in Hindu mythology. Pashupatinath refers to the “lord of animals” or “lord of all beings” in Sanskrit, often associated with cosmic energy and the power of creation and destruction.

The immense spirituality experience in the premises of Pashupatinath temple. During your visit to the temple, the marvelous architecture decorated with intricate carvings and sacred shrines makes you spellbound. The flood of devotees during the month of Shravan describes the significance of Pashupatinath temple. Pilgrims around the world come to pay respect to lord Shiva in the month of Shravan. The surrounding is so lively with the enchanting sound of religious hymns and the aroma of incense. So, the coming Shravan is all about spirituality, worship, and calmness toward lord Shiva. If you are thinking of traveling to Nepal, the Pashupatinath Darshan Yatra is available for you.

Like Pashupatinath temple, Kumbheshwar Temple of Patan city is considered as Patan Pashupatinath temple which is again dedicated to lord Shiva. During the month of Shravan, devotees come to perform religious rituals, offer special puja, and seek blessings from lord Shiva. The ambiance of Kumbheshwar temple is based on Newari architecture which has a multi-story style. It is believed that the temple was built in the Malla period.

In Kathmandu Valley, there are several Shiva Temples with the highest significance in the Hindu community. Doleshwor Mahadev temple is also the charming temple of Bhaktapur which is located in the eastern part of Kathmandu. The spiritual experience is key to visiting Doleshwor Mahadev Temple.
