Khokana Bungmati Patan City Tour

Upon the arrival at the airport, one will be received and escorted to the hotel but at the same day taken to tour of Patan.

Patan lies in the south of Kathmandu city and is listed under the world heritage by UNESCO. Patan as its own independent kingdom features its Durbar square, ancient historical temples, and Museums in its vicinity that has its own religion, culture and heritage of the city. It is a home to large Buddhist community and has many stupas with Hindu art in it. There are so many historical places that exists in Patan out of which is Bungmati and Khokana where one can explore. Not only Durbar square exists but there are also Ashoka stupas, Patan industrial states, Jawala Handicraft centers and many Monasteries.

Bungmati

Bungmati which is 12km south from Kathmandu and 6km south from Patan is also known as Bunga in Newari language. There is a river named Karmanasha flowing from south to north in Nepal on the way to Bungmati. Many people still lived in a traditional way that reflects their traditional culture and many lives depend upon wooden carving. Bungmati is also a summer home to Rato Machhindranath, annually a great festival happens. Its chariot is pulled from Bungmati to patan and back to Bungmati again. Thus, Bungmati is one of the manifestations of Adi Shakti Durga.

Khokana:

Khokana is a kilometer away from Bungmati where one can visit famous four Ganeshas of the Kathmandu valley named Karyavinayak on the way to khokana. Khokana resembles bungamati in many ways. It is popular for producing oil as there is still an old style wooden mill to produce oil. There is a temple names Rudrayani built in 17th century in Malla period.
