Langtang Valley Trek

7 days

The Langtang Valley trek is the nearest trek from Kathmandu, which is easily accessible and offers splendid scenic views. The region is considered the Valley of Glaciers, where the Tamang community follows Tibetan-influenced culture. The ancient monasteries, beautiful landscapes, and untouched modernity make this trip memorable. It doesn’t require flights like the Everest trek, or long traveling and multiple-week hiking itineraries like the Annapurna region.

The trekking trail is inside Langtang National Park, which is located in the Nuwakot, Rasuwa, and Sindhupalchok districts and lies north of Kathmandu. The National Park is well protected due to the habitat of the rare Red Panda, Himalayan Tahr, Snow Leopard, and rare species of herbs, dense rhododendron, and Pine forests. The narrow roads in the hills take 6-7 hours to reach Syabrubeshi from Kathmandu. Syabrubeshi is a small Himalayan town full of lodges and guest houses. Syabrubeshi is a trekking and climbing entry point for the Langtang Ganja-la pass trek, Kyanjin Gompa trek, the Gosainkunda trek, Yala peak climbing, the Tamang Heritage trail, and the Ganesh Himal trek. Langtang Valley Trek typically requires 7-8 days and can add a few more days if any individual wants to add the Gosainkunda trek and the Helambu trek.
