Culture and Language Immersion Tour

15 Days

Touring in the Himalayas combined with a culture and language immersion program will provide an opportunity to learn a new culture and language. The tour program will also give you exposure to work as a volunteer in the community school and orphanage center. During your stay, a week-long Nepali language class for understanding basic Nepali phrases and greetings for easy communication. Nepali food cooking can also be taught during your stay with a host family in the community.  This program is designed to create a favorable context to promote and recognize Nepali traditions, and ways of life to foreigners. Besides these activities, a tour and trek can also combine with this tour. Heritage tour of Kathmandu Valley covers the entire tour of UNESCO World Heritage sites.

Day 01

Day 1: Arrival at TIA, Kathmandu

One of our representatives assist you in transferring to the hotel from TIA (airport). A short briefing about the tour program followed by a welcome dinner.

Day 02

Day 2: Language class starts and Kathmandu Sightseeing Tour

After breakfast, we begin our Nepali language class for 2 hours from 8:00 am to 10: 00. After class, we begin our Kathmandu City sightseeing tour from Swoyambhunath stupa. Drive to Bouddhanath stupa, explore the premises, and understand the Tibetan Buddhist practices over there.  Lunch around Bouddha, Drive to Pashupatinath temple, Explore the premises of Pashupati such as the cremation area, Sadhus, and architecture of temples, and experience the spiritual vibes over there. In the evening, stroll around Thamel.

Day 03

Day 3: Patan, Bhaktapur City Tour and Drive to Nagarkot hill station

Today, we will visit Patan Durbar Square in Patan City and Bhaktapur Durbar Square in Bhaktapur. Patan and Bhaktapur, both cities, hold ancient temples and royal places of Malla kings where we can observe the splendid Newari craftsmanship in royal palaces, temples, stone sculpture, metalwork, pottery, and Thangka paintings. Drive to Nagarkot for the night halt.

Day 04

Day 4: Orientation day for the community program and transfer to the community.

A short hike around Nagarkot for a sunrise view. After breakfast, drive to Kathmandu and join the orientation session for the community program. You will be transferred to the community where your Nepali language practice continues. The host family welcomed you and shared their cultural traits with you. For a few days, you are going to experience typical Nepali family hospitality.

Day 05

Day 5-10: Community work, Volunteering

Experience volunteering activities with a local family in a nearby village around Kathmandu Valley or work as an English teacher in a community school.

Day 06

Day 11: Drive to Trisuli River for white water rafting and drive to Chitwan, Sauraha.

After community work, we continue our refreshment program combined with full of adventure and excitement. We drive to Trisuli River which is a popular destination for white water rafting. We will enjoy 3-4 hours of rafting and drive to Sauraha, Chitwan. Evening Tharu cultural show followed by a dinner.

Day 07

Day 12: Chitwan Jungle Safari and drive to Pokhara in the afternoon

In the morning, we will go canoeing and visit the elephant breeding center, walking for an hour in the jungle. Back to the hotel, have breakfast, prepare for jungle safari, check your cameras, sunglasses, binoculars, sunblock lotion, and then go for jungle safari in a jeep. Will encounter rhinos, deer, monkeys, and many other species of birds and wild animals. If we are lucky, we will encounter a tiger. After lunch in the afternoon, we drive to Pokhara city.

Day 08

Day 13: Explore Pokhara City

Pokhara touring can start with the observation visit to Gupteswor Cave and the famous Davis Falls, which are close to each other. People believed that Gupteswor cave has religious significance for Hindus and is dedicated to Lord Shiva. It is believed that because a Swiss citizen named Davis was swept away while bathing, this small fall has been named Davis Fall afterward and is a popular destination for tourists. We will have lunch around Lakesides. The tour can then be followed by the International Mountain Museum. Back to the hotel, refresh, and have a cup of tea. In the evening, stroll around Lakesides.

Day 09

Day 14: Drive to Kathmandu and relax and free in the evening.

Drive back to Kathmandu and take a rest in the evening, followed by a farewell dinner.

Day 10

Day 15: Departure

One of us will assist you to reach the airport 3 hours before your scheduled flight.
