Nepal is popular for white water rafting since several rivers have higher rapids and are the longest distances for water sports. Sunkoshi River is the nearest destination to the capital city of Kathmandu for adventure sports like kayaking and rafting. Sunkoshi River is one of eastern Nepal’s longest white water rafting. Sunkoshi River rafting is best suited for adventure seekers in adrenaline-pumping rafting experiences. It features a variety of rapids ranging from class III to class V. There are a few interesting and thrilling rapids like “Jungle Corridor,” “Harkapur,” and “Meadow” in different sections of Sunkoshi River. While we are rafting, both sides of the River will be surrounded by lush green forests, terraced fields, and high hills. You may notice hilly settlements in remote places, where you can experience a traditional way of life with the abundant beauty of nature and landscapes. The nine-day-long rafting passes through typical rural villages, where we can interact with the locals and understand the traditions and customs in their daily lives. Sunkoshi white water rafting includes camping along the river banks with full logistics support for the entire rafting. The rafters, camping support teams, Kitchen staff, rafting guide, and other support staff share their experiences and organize an entertainment program in the evening, which makes the camping site more lively and wonderful. With full logistics and essential equipment, we drive from Kathmandu to Dolalghat for three and a half hours. The final briefing regarding safety measures before starting the rafting in Sunkoshi River. Enjoy the first day of white water River rafting and halt at the camping spot at Tarang Gaun. Stay overnight at a tented camp.

We will enjoy a morning walk around the camping site. After breakfast, we start rafting from Tarang Gaon to Dumja village, which takes approximately four hours. Before we reach, our camping crew will set up the campsite and prepare a delicious lunch. People gathered around Dumja village to welcome us to the campsite. We will have a rest after lunch. The thrilling high rapids of this section of the River must require considerable care while rafting. Overnight at the campsite.

These days, after the construction of the BP highway following the Sunkoshi River around Khurkot, rafting in the Sunkoshi River starts from Kusheswor Mahadev temple. Today, we will cross a few high rapids and can stay around Mulkot or Khurkot at the resort or in our regular tented camp. Even the Sunkoshi River rafting can conclude at this point, and we can return to Kathmandu via Dhulikhel Jeep Drive.

We continue our Rafting adventure, passing a few thrilling rapids from Khurkot to Likhu Khola, which takes around 5 hours. The Photography during rafting will be sensational as the landscapes are mind-blowing and make you spellbound. We stay at the tented camp tonight.

Today, the rafting adventure passes through the narrower and deeper gorges, which takes approximately 6 hours to reach Harkapur village. During the journey, we may observe Himalayan Langur, monkeys, and birds on the banks of the river forest. We may halt for a moment to capture beautiful landscapes and wild animals. We stroll around Harkapur village and capture remote village life. We stay at the tented camp tonight.

Today is a tough day for rafting since we will encounter some skill-demanding rapids, which take approximately six hours to reach Raj Ghat from Harkapur village. There are a few rapids, namely, “The Bridge rapids,” “Krishna rapids,” and “Mangal rapids,” which are highly skill-demanding and need careful consideration during rafting. The day’s last hit is considered as a goosebump rapid called “Roller Coaster” to conclude the exciting and thrilling expedition. We stay at the tented camp tonight.

Still, the thrill continued in our river expedition as we crossed through narrow ridges and gorges. It takes approximately six hours to reach Bander Ghat following a few teamwork-demanding rapids and hard paddles. We stay at the tented camp tonight.

The Sunkoshi river rafting is almost at the end as we have crosses agitating deep gorges, cliffs, and high-skill demanding rapids. The Sunkoshi River spreads wide and is less aggressive as it flows in comparison to deep gorges and cliffs. We will have lunch between Bander Ghat and Bonjor Ghat. We stay at the tented camp tonight.

Today, in the early morning, we start to raft from Bonjour Ghat. Today is quite easier and more relaxed rafting in comparison to previous days’ rafting. The river is calm, and the rapids are fun-filled, which somehow makes you relieved. It takes approximately six hours to reach Baraha Chhetra, a significant Hindu pilgrimage area. Drive to Biratnagar and take a 30 minutes flight to Kathmandu. Transfer to the hotel and get relaxed. Overnight at the hotel in Kathmandu.
