Day 1: Drive to Sirubari Village via Pokhara
Drive from Kathmandu to Sirubari village after breakfast in the hotel. The rural town is in the Syangja district, further west of Pokhara Valley. It takes around 8-9 hours to reach Sirubari village, enjoying splendid views of hills, mountains, rivers, and terraced fields along the way. On the way to Pokhara City, we will have lunch at the resort on the bank of Marsyangdi River. We will shortly halt for a tea break in Pokhara city. In the late afternoon, we will be welcomed in Gurung’s traditions in the village by putting a tika on our forehead, garland, and sometimes Khada-like shawl. Settle in your designated home, which will be clean and comfortable. In the late evening, after dinner, participate in a Gurung cultural program hosted by women groups in a community.
