The newly established national park near Kathmandu City comprises two hills, Nagarjun and Shivapuri, to establish as the Shivapuri Nagarjun National Park. The national park is ideal for a short hike, either teahouse/lodge or camping. The greenery and abundant water resources inside the park are the primary water sources for the capital city. The park’s ecosystem is essential to maintain the purity of air quality in the Valley. Around the Kathmandu Valley hike, Shivapuri Nagarjun National Park can have a three to four-day hiking tour, including volunteering and homestay experiences near National park settlements. The first day of hiking is complete when we reach Nagi Gompa. We can stay as a volunteer inside Nagi Gompa and assist in cleaning and other regular activities of the Gompa, but it must be arranged before we confirm this itinerary.
Shivapuri Is spiritually sacred, as it is the source of the holy river Bagmati – Baghdwar. During the Nepali New Year in April, the festival is celebrated at Baghdwar. Around the year, a short hiking tour can be organized in this region.
