Pokhara is a popular tourist place and the second largest city in Nepal after the capital city, Kathmandu. It lies about 200 km west of Kathmandu and is distinctively known for sightseeing purposes, trekking, and other adventurous activities. The major tourist spots in Pokhara include Fewa Lake, Davis Falls, and Mahendra Cave.

Gupteswor cave: This is a cave located close to Davis Falls and is rumored to be the longest cave in Nepal (2950 meters). The main cave contains two chambers with several shrines located throughout the cave. Within the dark cave, they discovered many statues and shrines dedicated to lord Shiva and other Hindu deities.

Davis Falls: It is believed that the foreigner Swiss citizen David was swept away while taking a bath and never found after that. It covers almost an area of 500 meters in length and 30 meters in depth. It is locally known as Patale Chhango and the most attractive month for sightseeing is June, July, August, and September.

Barahi Temple: This is a mostly visited temple in the Phewa Lake that is located at the Centre of Phewa Lake. Visitors must ride on a boat to reach to this two-storied pagoda-style Hindu temple. Devotees can be seen especially on Saturday carrying animals and fowls for sacrificing it to the deity.

Fewa Lake: Fewa Lake is the second largest lake in Nepal and a primary tourist attraction site in Pokhara. It is considered to be a famous spot for recreational activities like kayaking, boating, etc. Visitors can stay at hotels, and enjoy exquisite restaurants and bars located near its bank. The splendid view of Machhapuchhare is dazzling from the lake.

Sarangkot Sunrise: Sarangkot is one of the most popular tourist destinations from where any visitors can enjoy the great view of Pokhara Valley and the magnificent view of the mountains. It is the highest viewpoint for sunrise and is about 1592 high. This destination can be reached easily by 45 min car ride to the top from Pokhara and then 45 min hike up to the main viewpoint.
