Culturally and historically important Dahachwok is an important place for anyone for a day hike. It is situated at an altitude of 1600 meters about 10km away from Kathmandu and is a popular destination for any visitors to have magnificent views. Sightseeing, jungle safari, hiking, and picnics are the activities that can be done here. There is also a park constructed around the cemetery of King Prithvi Narayan Shah which is not to be missed while visiting here. There is also a replica of the Manakamana temple that is dedicated to the goddess Bhagwati. Indra Daha is a popular religious pond where it is believed that the god Indra took a bath to get rid of the curse of Gautam Rishi for his infidelity. The main attraction is Switzerland Park, where every weekend people go for a picnic. Bhimdhunga is the last point of Nagarjun Municipality. The one-day hiking tour covers different cultures and traditions. Mainly, we see Tamangs, Chhatris, and Brahmins in this area.

Location: Nagarjun Municipality, about 10 km from Kathmandu

Itinerary

6:00 a.m.: Wake up and prepare for half an hour’s drive.

6:30 a.m.: Drive from Thamel Hotel to Rani Ban. we start to hike from Rani Ban via Adheswor to reach Danda Gaun. A popular spot White Gompa is there.

8:30 a.m.: Breakfast at Danda Gaun. We will see Kathmandu Valley from there and hike further to reach Bhirkot. We will observe floriculture and organic vegetable farms in Tamang village.

10:00 a.m.: By 10 we reach Nursery Bhanjyang, border of Kathmandu district and Dhading district. In summer, you will see rhododendrons all over the hills. Following Syamshwor Dham, we hike up to the top of the hill Indra Daha. Indra Daha is a famous and historical fort where you will see General Kalu Pande Cremation spot who was the army chief of King Prithvi Narayan Shah. On a clear day, we can see the Manaslu Himal and Langtang Himal range from this place. Explore around Indra Daha and descend to Naikap Village Resort for lunch.

1:30 P.m.: Enjoy lunch and take a rest for a few minutes. lunch break will be 1 hour.

3:00 p.m.: Descend via Kankali Mandir. You can visit the Community school shortly there and enjoy a 360-degree view of Kathmandu Valley.

4:00 p.m.: We will drive to Thamel via Swoyambhunath temple. if you are interested in climbing up Monkey Temple, we can go for it and spend one hour around there and back to the hotel and relax.
