Kathmandu Heritage Tour is a classical tour of the capital city of Nepal. The historical and cultural city has several unique features that attract thousands of tourists around the world. During your stay in Kathmandu, you will visit UNESCO’s World Heritage site which includes Kathmandu Durbar Square, Patan Durbar Square, Bhaktapur Durbar Square, Pashupatinath, Bouddhanath, and Swoyambhunath temple. Durbar Squares is enriched in Nepali architecture which is reflected in the wood carving of temples, palaces, and people’s houses. The ancient history and myth of this beautiful valley make your trip more exciting and interesting. The magnificent architectural design of temples, courtyards, and palaces, represents the flourishing era of art and culture that was developed in the Malla period. Swoyambhunath Stupa also known as the monkey temple is one of the significant places residing on a hilltop in the northwest part of Kathmandu city, where Hindus and Buddhists homage in the same temple. 

The national deity of Nepal, Pashupatinath is a revered site for Hindus all over the world which serves as a hub for religious ceremonies and spiritual energy. The Bagmati river bank is a major attraction for tourists due to the cremating site where the dead body incinerates with firewood. 

The Bouddhanath Stupa, a massive mandala and pervasive watchful eyes is a sacred pilgrimage site for Buddhists all over the world. The narrow alleys of the ancient city, traditional shops, and bustling streets, with the presence of Newari architecture, make this place worth visiting. Day 01

Day 1: Arrival at TIA Kathmandu

Upon arrival at Tribhuvan International Airport (TIA) in Kathmandu, one of our office representatives greet you and assist you in transferring to the hotel. Rest and relax.

Day 02

Day 2: Kathmandu Heritage Tour – Part 1

After breakfast, we drive to Pharping, a holy place for both Hindus and Buddhists. A Popular temple of Goddess Kali, Dakshinkali, and sacred Asuro Cave where Rinpoche Padmasambhava was enlightened. We explore these holy places and drive to Chovar, an outlet of the Bagmati river where we visit lord Ganesh temple called Jal Binayak. On the way to Kirtipur, we halt at Taudaha, a beautiful serene lake where you will notice migratory birds. Lunch at Kirtipur, we enjoy typical Newari cuisine. After lunch, we explore the historical landmarks of Kirtipur town, a medieval town with well-preserved architecture and a rich cultural heritage. With the best panoramic views of Kathmandu Valley and the experience of the hill station, we drive to Chandragiri Cable Car and enjoy the cable car before driving back to Kathmandu.

Day 03

Day 3: Kathmandu Heritage Tour – Part 2

Take a short walk to Swoyambhunath temple in the early morning, enjoy the sunrise, and view Kathmandu city from Swoyambhu hill. Return to the hotel, freshen up, and have breakfast. Drive to Bouddhanath and experience the tranquility of the surroundings. Explore traditional paintings such as Thangka painting, and wood carving around Bouddhanath. Drive to Bhaktapur Durbar Square, an ancient city in Kathmandu Valley which still has typical and organic flavor. The traditional Newari architecture is reflected in the courtyards, individual houses, Hindu temples, and Squares. The major attractions of Durbar Square are the 55 Windows Palace, Nyatapole, Museum, and many other monuments. We drive to Nagarkot for the Sunset view and stay there overnight.

Day 04

Day 4: Kathmandu Heritage Tour – Part 3

Early morning hike to Nagarkot tower for 10-15 minutes to view sunrise over the Himalayas. The Majestic Mount Everest can also be traced from Nagarkot Hill. Enjoy the panoramic view of the mountains and return to the hotel. After breakfast, drive to Kathmandu and visit Pashupatinath temple premises. Capture the spiritual moments around Pashupati. We then drive to Patan Durbar Square. We visit Golden Temple, Patan Museum, and many other Buddhist Bihar and courtyards before having lunch around Durbar Square. After lunch, we drive to Basantapur, the premises of Kathmandu Durbar Square. We visit Kumari temple to get blessings from the living goddess Kumari and the surrounding temple and monuments. The magnificent architecture of the Malla period and its liveliness make our tour memorable forever. We walk to Thamel observing the traditional market at Indrachwok and Ason. In the evening, farewell dinner followed by a Nepali cultural show.

Day 5: Departure

One of us assist you in transferring to the airport for your scheduled flight before 3 hours.
