Honey hunting traditionally follows one of the cultural traits of the hilly regions of Nepal. Honey hunting is somehow celebrated as a festival in the hilly region as a traditional custom following the same traits and rituals as in the past. Honey hunting normally happens in the Western region of Nepal. Mainly, Myagdi, Lamjung, and Gorkha are popular destinations to do honey hunting. Pokalde Adventure offers a honey hunting tour in the Lamjung district annually. Every year indigenous community of Gurungs does this adventure taking the risk of their lives to extract honey from the steep hills just using a single rope. One of the major sources of income is honey hunting and it has created lives in the village of Lamjung. Several tourists are attracted from all over the world observe honey-hunting adventures. The hunting has been carried out in the steep hills of Ghanpokhara, Khudri, Tanghring, Bhujung, Dudhpokhari etc. This is indeed a teamwork where three persons work collectively to collect honey i.e. one at the top, one at the middle to extract honey, and one at the bottom to collect.

One of our Office representatives will receive you and assist you to transfer to the hotel. In the evening, we will have a welcome Dinner with a Nepali cultural show.

Kathmandu city tour is available before honey hunting or after the adventure, depending on the schedule of honey hunting. Especially the city tour is on the second day for the preparation of permits and other necessary documentation. During city tours, we will visit UNESCO World Heritage sites such as Swoyambhunath, Pashupatinath, Bouddhanath, Kathmandu Durbar Square, and many other temples that give an incredible experience. Kathmandu, the capital city stands at an elevation of 1400 meters and is considered to be the center of Nepal’s history, art, and culture. Seven out of ten UNESCO World Heritage sites lie in the Kathmandu Valley. Depending upon our schedule, we may select three to four destinations for a city tour. Whether we go to Bhaktapur, Patan, or Kathmandu Durbar Square, almost we observe similar fashion of Newari art and architecture. Besides these, we will visit Swoyambhunath, Bouddhanath, and Pashupatinath.

Early breakfast and drive to Besishahar which takes about 5 hours from Kathmandu. In the afternoon drive to Ghalegaun after having a little rest. This is the point where one can start trekking for honey hunting sites or can use the off-road jeep to reach Ghalegaun. One can trek for 4-5 hours for honey hunting and can also view natural scenes on the way. Overnight stay at homestay.

Early morning breakfast and stroll around Ghalegaun. Enjoy the sunrise view from the Mountain. Observe Manaslu and other peaks. After the meal, we prepare stuff to take to go for honey hunting with the villagers. Enjoy and observe Honey hunting activities and celebrate in the evening.
Day 05Day 05: Trek to Beshisahar via Baglungpani for 3-4 hours or drive a jeep to reach Beshisahar and drive to Pokhara

We enjoy strolling lake sides in Pokhara. We visit Fewa Lake, Davis Falls, Cave, and many more on the street lakesides.

Following breakfast in the hotel, one can head to Pokhara via flight or take a long drive to reach Kathmandu. In the evening enjoy dinner in Thamel and shopping there.

You will be finally headed to the Kathmandu airport before the scheduled flight and the journey ends here.
