Honey hunting traditionally follows one of the cultural traits of the hilly regions of Nepal. Honey hunting is somehow celebrated as a festival in the hilly region as a traditional custom following the same traits and rituals as in the past. Honey hunting normally happens in the Western region of Nepal. Mainly, Myagdi, Lamjung, and Gorkha are popular destinations to do honey hunting. Pokalde Adventure offers a honey hunting tour in the Lamjung district annually. Every year indigenous community of Gurungs does this adventure taking the risk of their lives to extract honey from the steep hills just using a single rope. One of the major sources of income is honey hunting and it has created lives in the village of Lamjung. Several tourists are attracted from all over the world observe honey-hunting adventures. The hunting has been carried out in the steep hills of Ghanpokhara, Khudri, Tanghring, Bhujung, Dudhpokhari etc. This is indeed a teamwork where three persons work collectively to collect honey i.e. one at the top, one at the middle to extract honey, and one at the bottom to collect.
