Ghalegaun is the habitat of the famous Ghales, Gurungs, and legendary Gurkhas of western Nepal. It lies in the Lamjung district of Nepal and is incredibly popular for homestay trekking trekkers. It is situated 205 km northwest of Kathmandu and 125 km northeast of Pokhara. The village gives a close-up view of the western Himalayas including Machhapuchhare, Annapurna, Lamjung Himal, Buddha Himal, Himchuli, and other small peaks.
The Ghalegaun tour is very popular for honey-hunting activities. Traditional honey hunting can be observed during the Ghalegaun tour. Primarily, it is possible in the late spring and autumn seasons.
