Nepal is a multi-cultural, multilingual country with a diverse socio-economic structure. Nepal is ideal for research and educational tours too. In different regions, we have several communities and their cultural traits too. A short trip to Ghandruk and Landruk villages in the western region of Nepal will highlight the Gurungs and Magars communities in these villages. The cultural and natural amphitheater will widen the knowledge of students regarding our rural communities and their traditions, occupations, attires, food habits, and many other hidden perspectives of society. We will explore the Gurung Museum, the traditional stone-paved trail, beautiful houses, and the smiling faces of people in Ghandruk village. Landruk is another vibrant Magar village where almost every household youth is abroad for work. The next day we will go hiking from Landruk to Kande following Tolakha and Pothana village. We drive to Pokhara City and stroll around Phewa Lake. In the evening briefing and experience sharing of two days trip.

Itinerary

Day 1: Drive from Kathmandu to Ghandruk.

Early morning, we will gather at the school premises to check the final accessories and will drive to Ghandruk following the Prithvi highway. Ghandruk is a beautiful hilly village located in the Himalayan region. The mountain range from Ghandruk village is awesome. Annapurna Himalayan range, Gangapurna, Himchuli, and Dhaulagiri ranges are splendid to watch. The landscapes of the village, and similar stone wall houses are like a beautiful sketch drawn by a painter. The warm hospitality of Gurungs is amazing. Students will be attracted by the overall environment of this place. Overnight stay in a lodge/ hotel.

Day 2: Trek to Landruk from Ghandruk.

We will reach Landruk village after the three-hour hike. We slightly descend to Kyumi on the bank of the Modi River. Students will observe the traditional water mill. We will ascend slightly to reach Landruk village. We will stay at the Sherpa Hotel. Dinner will be followed by a musical program.

Day 3: Trek to Kande via Pothana from Landruk. Drive to Pokhara from Kande.

During spring, the trail is full of rhododendron flowers blooming which is a wonderful experience for the students. The hike is an exciting one for nature lovers. We will have lunch at Pothana. We drive from Kande to Pokhara. We will have a rest and briefing session for the entire tour. The experience-sharing session will be followed by a Gala dinner.

Day 4: Drive to Kathmandu from Pokhara.

Finally, the tour will be wrapped up in Pokhara city and will drive back to Kathmandu.
