Kathmandu Agro Tour

7 Nights 8 Days

Nepal is a small country in the Himalayas based on agriculture. Almost 65% of the total population is involved in agriculture and it contributes 27% of the total GDP in Nepal’s economy. Due to this reason, an Agro tour to Nepal is always a unique and immersive way to understand Nepal’s food chain and lifestyle. Depending on the seasons, different crops are produced in different parts of the country. Rice, wheat, maize, barley, mustard, and millet are regular crops produced in a different region of Nepal. vegetables like potatoes have a higher stake as it is farmed in low land to high altitudes. These days modern farming techniques are introduced in poultry farming, fishery, and cow farming. We organize this tour around Panauti town, which is 30 km in distance from Kathmandu. The Kathmandu Agro tour covers the in-depth exploration of the culture and history of the Valley. We will directly participate in the farming activities by staying in the village. Experience the homestay in a village while staying with a family.

Day 01

Day 1: Arrival in Kathmandu

One of us will greet you at the airport and assist you in reaching the designated hotel. In the evening stroll around Thamel. A short briefing of the entire program will be followed by a traditional Nepalese dinner.

Day 02

Day 2: Kathmandu City Sightseeing

Early morning visit Swoyambhunath Stupa (Monkey Temple) from Thamel as a morning walk. A half an hour’s walk is sufficient to reach Swoyambhunath. From the top of the Swoyambhunath Stupa, the panoramic view of the city can be observed. Return to the hotel, have breakfast, and drive to Bouddhanath Stupa and Pashupatinath temple. We drive to Kathmandu Durbar Square and have lunch around the Durbar Square. Visit Kumari temple, several other temples on the premises of Durbar Square, and finally Museum inside Basantapur Durbar.

Day 03

Day 3: Drive to Dhulikhel

We will travel to Dhulikhel, a small hill station town 40 km east of Kathmandu. We will visit local traditional farms and modern tunnels for farming. Interact with local farmers and understand the techniques of organic farming. We will stay with a local family in a homestay.

Day 04

Day 4: Dhulikhel to Panauti

In the morning we will take part in harvesting, planting, and weeding and understand the way of farming in the village. We drive to Panauti, a historic and religious town in the morning after breakfast. We will visit organic farms and learn about the sustainable farming practices. We will stay around Balthali village either in a resort or in a homestay to learn how to cook Nepali food.

Day 05

Day 5: Panauti to Namo Buddha

After breakfast, we will hike for an hour to reach Namo Buddha, a sacred Buddhist site. Visit Namo Buddha, observe local monasteries, and understand the significance of this sacred place.

Around Namo Buddha, we will tour to organic tea farm to understand the cultivation and processing of the Himalayan tea. Overnight at Dhulikhel.

Day 06

Day 6: Namo Buddha to Patan

Enjoy the sunrise from Dhulikhel, and capture the happening moments from your gadgets. After breakfast, drive to Patan City to observe the arts and crafts and well-preserved architecture on the premises of Patan Durbar Square. After Durbar Square, visit Khokana a traditional Newari town located in the south of Patan City. We will see the traditional oil-producing mill in the town. Along with this, we will observe several temples over there. Morning: overnight in Kathmandu.

Day 07

Day 7: Free day in Kathmandu

After breakfast, we will drive to Chandragiri cable car station to enjoy a cable car ride. Enjoy the view from the hill of Chandragiri and back to the hotel. Relax and free time for leisure and shopping on your own. Join the farewell dinner in the evening. Participate in the experience-sharing session.

Day 08

Day 8: Departure

We will assist you in transferring to the Tribhuvan International Airport three hours before your scheduled flight.
