Nepal Holi Tour

7 Nights 8 Days
Holi Celebration in Nepal

The festive season started with the changes in the calendar from Winter to Spring season. Spring brings joy and love which signifies the togetherness of lovers in the theater of nature. The popular festival of color – Holi celebrates the arrival of Spring in the sub-continent of South Asia. Especially, Holi is celebrated in Nepal and India by Hindu communities in the month of Falgun in Purnima (Full moon day).  Holi is celebrated for a couple of days in Nepal. The installation of Chir, a ceremonial bamboo pole with three layers of colorful clothes at Basantapur Durbar Square officially starts Holi for seven days in Kathmandu Valley.  Every year Chir is erected in Durbar square to symbolize the start of the Holi festival by locals and priests following traditional rituals and puja.

It is believed that the festival has been celebrated for centuries to mark the victory over the daemon. It is also considered as passion, love, joy, and friendship by spreading the multicolor of life in a jolly mode. The Holi tour to Nepal can give insight into Nepalese society’s multicultural and multilingual setup, which has unique harmony and unity. You can experience the uniqueness of Kathmandu Valley Holi in Kathmandu, Patan, and Bhaktapur, whereas you will experience differences in Terai Holi as you participate in Chitwan Sauraha. The Holi of Tharu people enjoy differently. This is a special tour to understand Nepalese society in a single frame.  Holi Photography and Holi festival tours are designed for those who like to know Nepal through its culture and festivals. We will visit Kathmandu Valley, Pokhara Valley, Chitwan, and a few hill stations to view the magnificent Himalayan range.

In Kathmandu Valley, Holi is celebrated for seven days as a tradition, even though the last day is important as all families, and friends unite together forgetting all resentments and bad feelings towards each other and exchanging greetings by putting different colors.   These days people use water also. But in the Terai, Holi is celebrated in next day after the hilly district celebrates. Due to this reason, we can experience Holi in a different place during this tour. Either we can enjoy Holi in Kathmandu Valley and Chitwan or Pokhara Valley and Chitwan.

Within this tour, you will explore famous and sacred tourist destinations in Kathmandu Valley, which are listed as UNESCO World Heritage sites such as Swoyambhunath, Bouddhanath, Pashupatinath, and Durbar Squares of Kathmandu valley.
