Thangka Painting is an ancient art that focuses on traditional Buddhist art. The Bouddhanath Thangka Tour is specially for those who want to know about the ancient art form of Buddhism and its devotions. Bouddhanath Stupa is one of the largest Stupas in the world, and it is listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The tour covers the overall explanation of Bouddhanath’s history, symbolism, and significance in Tibetan Buddhism. We can observe the Thangka artists sketching and painting in Thangka using traditional procedures passed down through several generations. One of our office representatives will receive you upon your arrival at the airport and will transfer you to the planned hotel. In the late afternoon, we will go on a guided tour to Bouddhanath Stupa, a UNESCO World Heritage site, and in the evening, we will visit a local Thangka art gallery for an introductory session. You will then be warmly welcomed with an excellent dinner that offers you authentic Nepalese cuisine rich in taste and culture.

Day 2: Thangka Painting Workshop & Monastic Experience
After breakfast, we will attend Thangka Painting School and participate in a Thanka Painting Workshop to observe the fundamentals of sketching sacred motifs and understanding proportions. At the same time, learn the basics of natural pigments, brushes, and the preparation process for painting on canvas. In the evening session, you can participate in a meditation session led by monks. Overnight at the hotel.

Continue the workshop on the second day, interact with Thangka artists, and learn and understand the various styles of Thangka painting. Visit different Thangka art schools around Bouddhanath Stupa. In the evening, we can have a Photography session around Stupa.

After breakfast, we take part in the completion day by finishing our incomplete Mandala or deity figure painting. Interacts with local artists and shares experiences.

Today, we will visit the most famous and sacred Pashupatinath temple of Hindus on the bank of the Bagmati river. Experience the spirituality around the Pashupati temple. We will have lunch at Bhaktapur Durbar Square, which is a wonderful experience for you. Bhaktapur is an ancient city in Kathmandu Valley. The unique and traditional flavor of Bhaktapur will make everyone happy. The artistic newari architecture, metal craft, pottery, and handicrafts make this city popular. Back in Kathmandu, leisurely enjoy an evening walk around Thamel and join us for a farewell dinner.

Our Extended Bouddhanath Thangka Tour comes to an end today! We transfer you to the airport approximately three hours before the scheduled flight.
