Day 01: Arrival in Kathmandu
One of our office representatives will receive you upon your arrival at the airport and will transfer you to the planned hotel. You will then be warmly welcomed with an excellent dinner that offers you authentic Nepalese cuisine rich in taste and culture.
Day 02-04: Tibet Visa Processing. (4 working days)
During Visa processing in Kathmandu, you can plan for a short hiking/ tour around Kathmandu for better preparation.
Day 05: Drive from Kathmandu to Kerung via Rashuwagadhi (190km, 8 hours 3500m)
After breakfast, we drive to Nepal Border Kerung via Trisuli Bazar. We will experience beautiful paddy fields, a hilly village with small shops, and the Manaslu, Ganesh Himal, and Langtang Himal ranges. With essential paperwork, we cross the Nepal-China Border to reach Kerung. Overnight stay at hotel.
Day 06: Acclimatization in Kerung 3500m)
Today, we do short hiking around the valley so that we can adjust our bodies to the Himalayan environment. We take a rest in the afternoon. We will have a Tibetan lunch cooked by our cooking team. Overnight stay at a lodge.
Day 07: Drive from Kerung to Saga (230km, 6 hours 4450m)
In the morning, we can enjoy the magnificent view of the Himalayan range during sunrise, if weather permits; then, as we head to Saga, you can view worlds’14th highest peak, Mt. Shishapangma (8012m), and Turquoise Lake Peiku Tso(4590m). Overnight stay at the lodge.
Day 08: Drive from Saga to Darchen(4670m), via Lake Mansarovar (450km, 4580m)
We have already gained high elevation, so strict precautions and guides are mandatory. While driving to Darchen, we will have a magnificent view of the Saga Valley between the Gangdise Range and the Himalayan Range. Meanwhile, the yak pastureland and beautiful villages can also be seen. As we cross the Mayomla Pass(5112M), you can enjoy the spectacular vista of Mt. Naimonanyi(7694M). Then, we are supposed to pass by the holy Lake Mansarovar and finally arrive at the southern foot of Mt. Kailash, the holy mountain in Tibet.
Day 09: Darchen-Drirapuk (driving 7km, Trek 13km, 4900m)
We drive to Sarshung Valley in the morning. Then, we will meet yak herds and porters at Sarshung village. We can even use a horse or yak while trekking from Sarshung to Drirapuk Monastery along the Lachu Valley and rivers. We can enjoy both the west and the north faces of mountain Kailash today. Finally, we will visit Drirapuk Monastery.
Day 10: Drirapuk-Dzutripuk (Trek 18km, 4575m)
Today, we will trek over the Dromala Pass (5630m), the highest pass of the Kora. On the way, we can have a rest in a teahouse. All the way, we can see local Tibetans prostrating in the Kora path and beautiful Kadoe Lake while descending downhill. We may also visit Zutulpuk Monastery. Stay overnight in a lodge/guest house.
Day 11: Dzutripuk-Darchen (Trek 7km, driving 5km).
On a third of the Kora. we will trek 7km to Zongto where we can take a bus to Darchen. Along the Kora, we can see piles of Mani Stones. We will end the Trek around noon, and rest in the lodging place.
Day 12: Darchen-Saga (450km)
Drive from Darchen to Saga via Lake Mansarovar. We can take a holy bath in Mansarovar Lake, or we can even have a hot spring bath and enjoy the natural hot spa in the Himalayas. Overnight stay at hotel/lodge.
Day 13: Saga to Kerung
Drive from Saga to Nepal Border Kerung. Rest at a hotel in Kerung.
Day 14: Drive to Kathmandu
After the formal procedure finished at the Nepal China Border, we drove to Kathmandu via Rashuwagadhi. We will have lunch in Dhunche which is a gateway to trek the Langtang valley of Nepal. We reach Kathmandu in the evening and rest at the hotel.
