Nepal has a rain shadow region in the western part due to the 8000m high Himalayan range of Annapurna and Dhaulagiri. Due to this fact, Upper Mustang and the Dolpo region are ideal for trekking adventures. Even lower elevation, short, and easy hiking around Kathmandu is also possible during the monsoon.
