I have been communicating with thousands of travellers within a few hours of political unrest occurring after the massacre of innocent youths in the September 8 protest against corruption and social media ban. The chaos vandalized public property, corporate offices, government institutions, individual properties, and the homes of political leaders, as well as a few schools and hotels, creating an unsafe environment for travelers. I was also not sure what was going to happen next. People were scared of uncertainty and insecurity. However, we overcame hurdles and tragedy and resumed our normal lives. I tried to convince people that things would be normal, which was negative due to the political crisis. It seems tough, but the volunteers, communities, and social workers give their efforts to reverse the situation in normal life. Through this blog, what I assure on behalf of Nepal and the Nepali people, we are in the process of resilience and stability. We welcome travellers to travel in a beautiful Himalayan country. There are a few tips that are useful during your visit to Nepal:
- Book your tour/trek via the agency and get the information and confirmation along with a receipt.
- Know your contact person and details where you stay during the tour and trek.
- Check your permits and entry cards for the restricted area and the National Park.
- Know the details of the hotel and lodge where you are going to stay during the tour.
- Add the Tourist police helpline number and online information portal URL.
- Exchange only necessary cash coz online payments are easier and available everywhere. During the trek, carry cash due to the unavailability of the digital system everywhere. And your card may not work either.
- Book your flights and vehicle via a registered travel company or can pay by their online card or through an online platform like Esewa, Khalti, and many other recognized wallets.
- Use a water purifier tablet or boiled water
- Take weather updates regularly.
- Use local telcos’ SIMs for better connectivity and communication. NTC and Ncell SIMs are cheap and useful.
- Power Bank and 220V socket, so two pins must have an asian standard
The Nepali community always welcomes travellers with warm hospitality, so you do not need to be scared to travel to Nepal. Enjoy the fullest in the serene environment of Nepal. The delicious food, traditional culture, and festivals are worth observing and experiencing in the lap of the Himalayas.
