Bhutan Cultural Tour

Day 01:  Arrival in Kathmandu
One of the representatives of Pokalde Adventure will receive you upon your arrival at the airport and will transfer you to the planned hotel. You will then be warmly welcomed with an excellent dinner that offers you authentic Nepalese cuisine rich in taste and culture.

After breakfast, the tour can begin with sightseeing world heritage sites within Kathmandu. Kathmandu is known for its rich art, culture, and architecture. The Malla dynasty ruled over the country from the 12th to 18th century. At the same time, Pashupatinath is known to be a religious Hindu temple and is dedicated to Lord Shiva. The Bouddhanath Stupa is one of the largest stupas in South Asia, which was built on the ancient trade route to Tibet.

We fly from Kathmandu airport to Paro airport in Bhutan. We will witness Mount Everest, Kanchenjunga, and the holy peaks Jumolhari and Jichu Drake in splendid view. We will be welcomed at Paro and transferred to the hotel by a Pokalde Adventure Tours & travel representative. Normally, we reach Paro for Lunch, where we will experience Bhutanese culture and food. After lunch, we visit the Ta Dzong – National Museum, which contains a gallery that embraces a variety of ancient canvases, the “Arena of Buddhas.” After touring a museum, we visit the Drugyal Dzong Ruins (Bhutan Victory Fort), which was built in 1646 to commemorate Bhutan’s victory over Tibetan invaders during the 1600s. Thimphu is a lovely valley with a peaceful environment located amid the Himalayas even though it is the capital of a county, it is a small valley with an ethnic community with a serene ambiance where all houses are built in Bhutanese style. In the evening, you can stroll around town and experience the lifestyle of people and have dinner and sleep overnight in Paro.

Bhutan is a small Himalayan Kingdom in South Asia. Thimphu is the capital city of Bhutan, which is the main economic hub of the country. We can experience a blend of modernism and traditional lifestyle in Thimphu. The cultural and traditional customs and a higher degree of hospitality with a variety of food make it a more interesting and magical tour in the lap of the Himalayas. Thimphu is a unique example of cultural preservation, even in ultra-modern contexts, which is globally suppressing local culture and traditions. After an early breakfast, drive to Punakha and Wangdue for 3 hours the drive goes through Dochula Pass (3150m) with an outstanding view of the Eastern Himalayan mountain. Lunch at the hotel and a small hike to Chimi Lhakhang, the temple of Lama Drukpa Kunley, also commonly known as the divine mad monk who is said to be Bhutan’s beloved saint. The walk passes rice paddies along the village from where the temple is seen, and outside, it is said that the Drukpa Kunley sent a thunder to finish evil spirits the visit continues to Wangdiphodrang Dzong, the cliff which is 13 km away from Punakha, built by Dzong in 1638 A.D.  Overnight at Hotel.

Hike to (Tiger’s Nest) Monastery, (Bhutan’s most renowned monastery.) it is completely magnificent, located at 10,400 feet, and the guru is perched at the edge of a sharp cliff about 3,000 feet above the Paro Valley where Guru Rimpoche winged on a tigress to meditate. Here, lunch is managed in the cafeteria situated around the middle of the peak, and after exploring the tiger’s nest, one can meditate within the leftover time and, lastly, back to the hotel.

After breakfast, we drive to the airport for an international flight. You fly to Kathmandu, transfer to the hotel, and take a rest.
